My Name is Candi Sue Cooper and I am an American Citizen from Los Angeles, California. In 2020, during the pandemic, I decided to relocate to Tanzania, a country I previously had visited on safari in 2017 and fell in love with. Then, my travel was what we call “glamping”, a high-end affair organized by a travel agency located in Botswana. I thought a safari experience could not be any better!

Studying the safari landscape on site. I started to reevaluate my earlier experience and realized that tourists are seldom aware of the choices being offered them. I decided to do something about it.

Living in Arusha for the past four years and having struck great friendships with those intimately involved in the travel industry, I became aware of the following:

First -I realized that tourists are seldom aware of the choices being offered them. The Internet, this incredibly persuasive machine, is rife with glamorous pictures and deals too good to be true.

Second - while most companies delving in the safari business maintain a high standard of ethics, others do not.

Third -the underlying principle of the industry is simple: because no one wants to believe that they made bad decisions, the client is likely to accept most offered choices uncritically.

ISCOT proposes to be Inspector 12, the one certifying that the final deal conforms to the specifications of the requester.

How does it work?

I will have to get to know you. You will tell me what your expectations are (length of trip; budget; aim of the journey; desired level of comfort; number of people...etc).I will match you with a reputable safari outfitter.

Do you pay me directly for my services?

No. The travel agency will, possibly at no increased cost to you. However, different agencies have internal rules and regulations not subject to my jurisdiction. Should this be the case, you would be informed of any added costs.

Who works for me?

So far, I am the owner and only employee on-site for ISCOT.
I have contracted with a reputed IT and SCO company...

My Experience

- The Initial lodge I was housed at on arrival was undoubtedly the highest rated establishment in Arusha. I subsequently discovered an even more beautiful one located less than a mile away AT HALF THE PRICE.

- My tented camp just outside Tarangire National park, while incredibly beautiful, cost as much as another five-stared one located inside the park, thus offering a better animal viewing experience and more efficient daily game drives.

- The reputed hotel in Northern Serengeti, a jewel of architecture and placement, had sparse staffing due to management issues. The expensive room pricing cetainly did not reflect this problem.

- The mobile camp in southern Serengeti, again an iconic brand, offered less culinary choices than another less expensive and equally as beautiful one located in Seronera Central Serengeti.
